I have developed an effective lesson that uses printable cell boxes that my students really enjoy using. There are 3 different Cell games/activities that I use to help my students grasp this concept. This lesson is more than worth a try. It is easy, you will love this and so will the kids.
In this activity we focus on the structure,function and pictures of the 6 cell organelles .

Rubric and lab guide with grade chart
During my ambitious first year of teaching, I developed a lab report rubric that is about a detailed as it can get. It makes lab reports very easy for students to do and easy for you to grade. It is based on 110 point scale. I spent at least 5 hours developing this rubric knowing I would use it the rest of my career. I hope it helps you. This is a must if you want to prepare student for college.

Punnett Squares- A competitive group challenge that get progressively harder as students complete each phase.
Classification-of-Organisms- Students practice applying vocabulary and using a dichotomous key at the same time! Students classify organisms using printable cards!
Wilted Plant Lab pdf– This lab is an investigation into the school’s wilted plants. Student design and experiment to determine if excessive salt from the roads is the culprit!
